Giving to FEHD

Your support shapes the next generation of teachers, psychologists and education leaders

Why your gift matters

Gifts to the Faculty fund scholarships for students in financial need, named professorships and research funds, and the equipment and facilities our students train on. Every gift, of any size, helps us reach students who could not otherwise afford to become teachers, psychologists or counsellors.

How to make a gift

Choose what to support

Give to one of the funds above, or to the Faculty's general fund and let us direct it where the need is greatest that year.

Make the gift

Online by card, by cheque payable to the University, or by bank transfer. Regular monthly giving is available.

Receive your receipt

An official receipt is issued within ten working days. Donations of HK$100 or more are tax-deductible in Hong Kong.

Hear what it did

Donors receive a short annual report on the fund they support, and an invitation to the Faculty's scholarship presentation.

Questions donors ask

Is my donation tax-deductible?

The University is a charitable institution for the purposes of section 88 of the Inland Revenue Ordinance. Donations of HK$100 or more are deductible against salaries tax and profits tax in Hong Kong, and an official receipt is issued for every gift.

Can I choose exactly what my gift supports?

Yes. A gift can be directed to any of the funds on this page, to a particular department, or to a purpose you agree with the Advancement Office. Gifts of HK$1,000,000 or more can be established as a named fund.

Does my employer match gifts?

Many Hong Kong employers operate matching schemes. Send us your employer's matching form and we will complete and return it, usually within five working days.

Can I give from outside Hong Kong?

Yes. Overseas donors can give by international bank transfer or by card. Tax treatment follows the rules of your own jurisdiction, and we can supply the documents your tax authority asks for.

Can I give anonymously?

Yes. Tell us when you give and your name will not appear in any donor listing, report or publication.

Can I remember the Faculty in my will?

Legacy gifts are welcome, and the Advancement Office can provide the wording your solicitor will need. A conversation carries no obligation and is treated in confidence.

"The scholarship I received meant I could focus on my practicum instead of a part-time job. It is the reason I am a teacher today."
