How do I apply for credit transfer?
Take the credit transfer form to your programme adviser with an official transcript and the course outline of the subject you studied elsewhere, within the first four weeks of your first semester. Up to 50% of a programme’s credits may be transferred; transferred credits carry no grade and do not affect your GPA. Decisions take about four weeks.
What do I do if I miss an assessment?
Tell the course lecturer and your programme adviser the same day, and submit the application for special consideration within five working days with supporting documents — a medical certificate, or evidence of the compassionate circumstances.
Where the application is accepted you will normally sit a deferred assessment rather than receive an estimated mark. Missing an assessment without an accepted application is recorded as a zero for that component.
How do I request a transcript?
Order through the student portal. Copies cost HK$50 each and take five working days, plus about ten days if posted overseas. A transcript ordered before the results release date will not include the current semester.
Who do I contact about my placement?
The Field Experience Office (fe@eduhk.hk) handles allocation, dates and paperwork. Anything about teaching itself goes to your University supervisor, who is named on your placement letter. Urgent matters during a block practicum should be telephoned to the Office the same day.
Can I take a leave of absence?
Yes, for up to two semesters, for medical, family or other substantial reasons. Apply through your programme adviser with supporting documents, ideally before the semester begins. Approved leave does not count towards your maximum period of study.
Notices for students
Faculty scholarship applications close on 30 November
Applications for the Faculty of Education and Human Development scholarships for 2026/27 close at 17:00 on Monday 30 November. Around 40 awards are offered each year, covering academic merit, community service, field experience performance and financial need.
Practicum briefing for Year 3 students, 20 October
All Year 3 students entering the Semester 1 block practicum must attend the briefing on Tuesday 20 October, 14:30–16:30, in D1-LP-04. The session covers placement allocation, the supervision schedule, lesson observation paperwork and the professional conduct expected on site.
