Applications for the Faculty of Education and Human Development scholarships for 2026/27 close at 17:00 on Monday 30 November. Around 40 awards are offered each year, covering academic merit, community service, field experience performance and financial need.
The Department of Early Childhood Education welcomed teachers, centre leaders and researchers to the Tai Po campus for a two-day symposium on play in the early years. Around 200 colleagues from kindergartens, childcare centres and universities across the region took part.

All Year 3 students entering the Semester 1 block practicum must attend the briefing on Tuesday 20 October, 14:30–16:30, in D1-LP-04. The session covers placement allocation, the supervision schedule, lesson observation paperwork and the professional conduct expected on site.
The Faculty has opened applications for a new scholarship scheme aimed at applicants to its taught postgraduate programmes, with particular encouragement given to serving teachers wishing to further their studies. The award covers part of the tuition fee for the duration of the programme.
The Department of Psychology has announced a seminar series on developmental and educational psychology, running through the current term. Topics include attention and working memory in the classroom, adolescent wellbeing, and the use of assessment to inform tiered support for pupils in schools.
Several research projects led by Faculty staff have secured funding in the latest round of competitive external research grants. The successful projects span early literacy, inclusive classroom practice and school leadership, reflecting the breadth of work carried out across the Faculty's five departments.
A research team from the Department has been commissioned to review how aspiring principals are prepared for the role, tracking a cohort of 60 middle leaders through certification and into their first year of headship.
