The Master of Arts in Special Educational Needs and Inclusive Education is a taught postgraduate programme for teachers and other professionals who work, or intend to work, with students who have special educational needs. It suits serving teachers, educational psychologists, allied professionals and graduates who wish to specialise in inclusive education practice.
Structure and Duration
The programme is offered part-time over two years, with classes held in the evenings and on Saturdays to accommodate serving teachers. A full-time mode of one year is available to students who are able to commit to daytime study. The programme carries a total of 30 credit points, comprising core courses, elective courses and a capstone project or dissertation.

Career Prospects
Graduates typically continue their careers as teachers with a specialist role in supporting students with special educational needs, as learning support coordinators, or as officers in government and non-governmental organisations concerned with inclusive education.
